Travelling within Canada?

Health coverage differs from province to province; make sure you’re covered.

Travelling outside Canada?

Provincial coverage doesn’t cover everything you might need when out of the country.

Already have group travel coverage?

Top it up with trip cancellation, accident and baggage loss coverage.

How many trips do you need coverage for?

One trip

Single-trip coverage is right for you.

More than one

If you know you’ll be making more than one trip this year, consider an annual plan for the best value. An annual plan covers you for any number of trips within a one-year period. It can be more economical to buy annual coverage up-front than to buy single coverage for each trip.

More than one... but only during the summer

For summer travellers, our Summertime Blue plan offers multi-trip coverage within the summer period.

Will you be travelling within Canada or elsewhere?

Within Canada?

Health coverage differs from province to province. As a non-resident traveller to another province or territory, you may not be eligible for the same services or pay the same rates as residents.

If you’re travelling within the country, make sure you’re covered no matter where you go with a Canada-only plan.

Outside Canada?

We’ve all heard how high out-of-country medical bills can run. Travel insurance when leaving the country is a must; you can’t predict when accidents might occur.

What type of coverage do you need?

Emergency Medical (Hospital, Medical & Paramedical)

Emergency medical care plans provide coverage for out-of-country or out-of-province medical expenses of up to $5,000,000. Benefits include hospital accommodation, doctor’s bills, medical appliances, private registered nurse, laboratory tests, emergency prescription drugs, accidental dental care, ambulance service, repatriation, and more.

The plan must be purchased prior to departure from your province of residence.

Always included in emergency medical coverage:

  • $5 million for emergency medical care per trip.
  • Hospitalization fees.
  • Professional fees for nurses, physicians and other health professionals for emergency medical treatment and care.
  • Up to $2,000 for emergency dental treatment as a result of an accident.
  • Emergency repatriation by air ambulance or commercial flight with a medical escort.
  • Up to $3,000 for accommodation and meals if your return is delayed due to a medical emergency.

Trip Cancellation or Interruption

Sometimes, circumstances beyond your control force you to cancel your trip, or cut it short after you’ve left. Trip cancellation or interruption coverage protects you from losing your investment. If your trip includes non-refundable, prepaid travel expenses, this benefit is for you.

This plan must be purchased once the first non-refundable deposit on the trip is made, and is available for trips up to 182 days.

Accident Coverage

No one wants to think about a major accident happening on a trip—but if it does, accident coverage helps ease the financial strain.

This benefit covers you for acccidental death or loss of use of one or several limbs during your trip. This protection is applicable at anytime during your trip, or while on air flight or public transportation. A lump sum amount will be paid to the covered person or to the beneficiary, depending on the event.

Baggage Loss, Damage & Delay

It’s everyone’s fear: you arrive safely at your destination… but your luggage doesn’t.

That’s where this benefit comes in, covering you against loss or damage to your baggage and personal effects so you can continue with your trip with minimal disruption. You’re also insured up to $500 for the purchase of toiletries and clothing necessities in the event your luggage arrival is delayed 12 hours or more.
